In 2012 A Is for Africa’s founder, Molly Smith, organized a trip to Tanzania with twelve women: sisters, mother, aunts, a cousin and friends.  When asked how can we help, the teachers of Matim Primary School responded "Please, can you feed the children?"

A lunch program was started for the youngest 90 children.  Today, in 2022, 1500 + children receive a cup of enriched porridge each school day.
